We are so excited to prep for Memorial Day this year! This will be our first holiday in our new home – with our own YARD. Adult things are so exciting. I order lots of goodies from Amazon today to help us prep for the holiday next weekend! Although we won’t be doing much since the state of Virginia is still practicing Social Distancing – we do have some amazing neighbors who we will be outside with!
As a new Mom I’m really trying to document all of the holiday’s for Aj. My ultimate goal is to make a huge scrapbook for her each year of her life (not sure when I’ll actually do that – but it’s a nice thought to have). Joshua & I both grew up in families that always had big gatherings on holidays so we would also like to give that fun experience to Aj.
I’m going to link a few items below to help you celebrate the holiday. Feel free to leave any other ideas in the comment section! PS – everything I am linking will currently arrive before the holiday! Make sure you check the estimated arrival date before you order to see if things have changed!
When I’m buying decor I really try to find items that will work well for multiple occasions. The party decorations & American Flag blanket below could also be used for 4th of July & Veteran’s Day! The Buffalo Check Pillow Covers I already own & bring them out for Christmas. Garden stand flags can be placed outside all year long depending where you live.
With the safe practice of social distancing I assume that a lot of us will be spending time outdoors instead of inside. Keep in mind that with some of these games you may want to take sanitary precautions if you are playing them with people who do not live in your immediate household.
Grilling Tools & Accessories
I’m really excited about the 3 tier oval bowl set!!! I love that it can be used for multiple holidays. The grilling set can be used all summer long as well as the apron. The table cloth comes in a pack of 3 which is great if you have a serving table along with a sitting table & an island inside that you would like to cover – or you could even use it as a fun back drop to take pictures.
Clothing for the Family
Buying whole outfits for a family can be expensive so finding festive tops is usually my go to solution! I also specifically choose items that can be used for multiple holidays like I mentioned with the decor above. I try to stay away from anything that has a specific date on it (4th of July items).

Here’s a fun throwback picture of Joshua & I from 2015! I can’t believe how far we have come since then. Lord knows I won’t be wearing a ‘dress’ (shirt) that short ever again in my life! Joshua still has that same exact outfit & pretty much wears it ever American themed holiday . . . That mens flag tank top I linked above is also one that he owns & loves. 😉 I’m probably going to have to buy another one for him because it’s not really white anymore.
What are you & your family doing for the upcoming holiday? Do you have any traditions? We are just starting to make traditions within our little family so I would love ideas. There is a comment section below if you want to share some memory making tips with us. 🙂
A gracious thank you to all of the men & women who have served our great country & made the ultimate sacrifice. Happy Memorial Day! Be safe. xo
